From Finding a Job to Feeling at Home in the Netherlands

The Steps for Foreign Workers in Horticulture and Logistics

If you come from another country and want to work in Dutch horticulture or logistics, it may seem complicated. But don't worry, we will explain the steps to you, from the moment you see a vacancy to building a social life in the Netherlands.

1. Vacancy on Social Media

It starts with finding a job you enjoy. Our vacancies are often shared on social media such as Facebook. You see the job and think it's something for you.

2. Applying Online via Computer

You can apply for the job via your computer. You will have an interview with our people in the Netherlands via video chat, such as Zoom or Facetime. This allows them to see if you are suitable for the job.

3. Travel Planning and Pick-up in the Netherlands

If we hire you, we will make plans for your journey to the Netherlands. Someone will pick you up and take you to Wateringen.

4. Reception in the Netherlands and Registration

When you arrive in the Netherlands, you will be greeted by our staff. They will help you register and explain how everything works.

5. Arranging Accommodation

You need a place to live. We will take you to a house where you can live.

6. Next Day to Work with Special Transport

The next day, we will take you to your new workplace by special transport. By car, bicycle or with a driver, depending on where you work. There, you will be introduced to your new colleagues and given an explanation of what you need to do. They will help you with everything you need to know.

7. Wages and Salaries

Everyone works to earn money. Once you have obtained a BSN number and opened a bank account, you will be paid your wages regularly every Friday.

8. Making New Friends and Building a Social Life

Life is not just about work. You can meet new people and make friends in the Netherlands. You will also have time to get to know Dutch culture.
